We’ve consolidated southern support, but lost ground in the Midlands and the North. We lost a good 20 seats because of UKIP bleeding support away. I guess we’re in a holding pattern for the next 4-5 years. At least Blair is now severely encumbered by the rebels on the left. This result probably doesn’t give the Tories enough food for thought. I’d rather have taken a kicking than got this so-so result.
